Urbanization – Basel 2000/2016

The Basel Region (North-western Switzerland) is an economically active region of Switzerland and urbanisation is changing rapidly the landscape of this area. We run the Urbanization algorithm to compare year 2000 and 2016 using Landsat 7 data. We can clearly see important changes in a short period of time over several parts of the region.

First cloud-free mosaic for the entire Switzerland

Today, we’ve been able to generate our first cloud-free Landsat 8 mosaic for the entire Switzerland for the year 2016. The Swiss Data Cube is growing

Recently the Swiss Data Cube (SDC) has been updated with all available Landsat 5, 7, and 8 scenes covering the entire country. The SDC is now populated with more than 3300 scenes over a period of 33 years (1984-2017). The next step will be to soon add all Sentinel 1 and 2 data.
